Another week past and nothing much done with stitching, i really needed to finish one of the rr, this one locally as it's due date for the next sending is the first of August. It was just too busy with other activities, the kids specially. Now they are on vacation for six weeks! The weather has been very warm too so we went to the beach a few times. Might be going there a lot if the weather stays warm, that is when i am free otherwise DH will take them.

Yesterday, we were invited for a BBQ by friends, whad just placed some food on the grill when it started raining. They were not prepared for it so we indeed up eating inside. After a couple of hours the rain stops and we were able to sit outside till nearly midnight.

Been to the beach today again and came home about seven pm, and an unexpected visitors came in too. Friends who've been living in Shanghai/China are on the island, they've arrived this week so they came by for a visit. It was great to catch up with them and if it's not for the kids i think we are still chatting till now.
Will be working these coming days so won't be online and NO stitching at all.

Thanks everyone who drops by and leave comments, really appreciate them!!

Zohrah...till now we still don't have plans for the (school) summer holiday which will start next week. Can't get a long break from work as it's now the busiest time of the year. Aside from that, Kees has problems with his knees, he is expecting for an operation and it might be this summer too.

Margaret...just read the news about the 'vierdaagse' this morning, with two deaths during the first day and lots unwell the following day they decided to stop it. Quite a big news here at the moment. I've been working these last couple of days, so DH took the kids to the beach after school. We've all been to the beach though last sunday with some of the family and friends of our kids. I did try to go to the water but find it still cold, i think about 20 degrees C(water temperature).
The heart is a freebie from this site, actually a seasonal hearts but Christine prefer it to be stitchecd in one colour that represent the season. I did the summer one. Anne-les-petites-croix

Pictures at the beach last sunday, one was when the kids at the water with Kees and the other one while the kids resting and having ice cream. Grace with her friend Lynn and Chris with his friend Mels. Actually, Lynn and Mels are brother and sister and really a coincidence that these four are quite good with each other. That sunday evening, we were invited by their parents for a b-b-que at their place. It was great, that we were finally home at around ten which was very late for the kids as they had to go to school the next day.

...& another summer exchange + Christine's rr

Here's another summer exchange completed. This is from the yahoo group locally. I made this pincushion and card for my partner(Greet) and included a few DMC threads. Just seen a note that she've received it and happy with what she got. It was actually a kind of surprise as we don't know who's gonna send to us.

This was what i received in exchange from Judith H. A lovely bookmark and card plus a couple of DMC.

Here's a pic of Christine's rr that i finished this week. I just hope Christine would like the colour i had chosen for it.

I didn't realise it's nearly a week now since my last post. It seems just like a couple of days ago. It's been very warm here so when i'm home i ussually sits outside, reading and sometimes stitching and doing some works in the garden.
I have some finishes, again small ones, but i haven't uploaded it yet. I am waiting for a couple of exchanges being receive before sharing a pic.

Anyway, i had received a wonderful surprise a few days ago, a big box was delivered and when i look at the postage it was from the U.S. I am not expecting such from the exchanges i had joined lately which was only small ones. So it got me worried at first, thought i had forgotten something... Well, this was an exchange exactly a year ago, 'stitching a small picture, no need to finish and then send to partners.' Now my partner finally done with the stitching and completed it into a cushion and added some goodies too. I just love the cushion she've made and all the things enclosed.

February ornament..

...finished just right on time. This is my very first into a round ornament. I am so glad it turned out well, though honestly it was quite d...
