Finally an off day...

...without plans for the day. Ussually, recently after busy work days been out or entertaining here.

Noticed my blooming orchids, can't believe quite many and almost all re blooms except one. Had washed their leaves and soaked them for a while and thought to take pics of the blooming ones. Aren't they gorgeous?

Yesterday, had to start at midday for work so i thought to go for a short jog along the dyke as it's a lovely weather. Saw some lovely blooming daisy's which made me stitched and finished this one today..it will be send out to a friend later❤️

May ornament,..i stitched and finished a couple of days late🤭

Early this week, been with friends visited an elderly friend at the mainland..took her for lunch 

..and then bring her to her appointment. Still early for heading back to the island so we went playing tourist at one of the known tourist place, Volendam❤️

Quick update ...

...before the month ends..don't even know where to start🥴it has been my plan to write on in here but it has been pretty busy..if it is not at work then it's socially. Right now, out of the island and staying at one of my BF's sister for the night. BF birthday today and we've been out and about..have a couple of days off and quite a lovely sunny weather thus we are the mainland visiting his family.

Anyway...stitching..not much done this month, just a couple small finishes:completed the spring flowers which was featured at TWOCS march 2023, design by Jenny van de Wiele.

Well..aside from stitching i love preparing foodies too:

This was beginning of May, when ex gf of my son came for dinner.

One of BF stayed wirh us ..has to prepare a quick meal after a long day at work.

One weekend ..my son with his band performed in town.

Last weekend we celebrated BF birthday with our kids and just a few of his friends. I did all the side dishes and small bites...the meat for the bbq were ordered. Lovely weather lovely company❤️

I am just on time stitching and finishing this Lizzie Kate dedign for my April ornament.

so far these are all the Lizzie kate's design i stitched for the monthly christmas ornament SAL.

Made a progress on the Flower design ...busy at work and other events not much time to stitch.

A finished & a couple new starts..

Started this more than a year ago and finally finished it off. Hope to frame it one day.

Made a srart on this lovely spring design..

..pick up a hardanger piece which i startey more than a year ago..

..and thought to try the cuttings first on a smaller piece before doing on the bigger piece.

last is a card i quickly stitched for one of our neighbour who turned 80 last weekend.

These Easter ornaments were sent to friends, in and out of Holland. So glad to hear all were received just in time for Easter. I loved making these small cuties and to hear that all reciever loves it.

March ornament

My ornament for this month is another Lizzie Kate design..it is from the Just Cross Stitch ornament issue 2002.

Still stitching Easter ornaments which will be given to friends, the ones that are for outside the country were already posted and received, one to the U.S was received in less than a week..i was really surprise. Usually it takes nearly 2weeks before.

Been away for a couple of days in one of the big city, this time in Groningen.

One of the Craft shop, De Handwerk Boetiek were i usually ordered my stitching supply is nearby..know this shop for more than 20 years and it's only now i visited it in person. I can only say WOW! I can say i did spent quite a fortune on stitching goodies. If it were not for my BF i had spent the whole day in there. And so glad to meet the owner, Anemiek.. though she was not feeling well as she just got back from Nashville...

Here's a pic of what i've bought..can't really pick on what to start first...but soon on my off days next week.

At the city of Groningen, i can say truly a bicycle haven. There are bikes everywhere, kind of scary in some areas to wonder though, i am not use to it. We did had a good visit around despite of the cold, but i think we had spent more time cafe's😊 picture below took it after dinner when we were on the way to our hotel. I was really surprised so busy in some of the cafe's/bar as it is quite cold outside. Well, it is a University city..so lots of younters, students..also lots from other countries.

Flower show..

A week ago, been to a flower show indoor. Lots of different Spring flower bulbs were presented, and so beautifully arranged. Think the area is as big as basketball court and were all filled with differrent arrangement of spring beauties. Below pictures were just a few...

Been stitching lots recently for Easter ornaments, a few are on it's way to friends, still not yet done for my friends here around.

In between Easter stitching, finished this small pillow, love seeing lots of crocusses apearing here and there:

Weekend off which is seldom for me, as it's so cold outside i thought of starting a bigger project...love the Flower design which is featured on the new issue of Cross Stitcher magazine so that kept me busy the whole afternoon, finding the right fabric i wanted to use and all the DMC colours. Well, manage to finish one of the flowers:
