My everblooming orchids...

...aren't they gorgeous! Everytime i came in from work or comes down in the morning i can't resist staring at them ...can't believe they've been blooming for so long. Below picture are sitting by our kitchen window. These big potted one in the living room. Oh, i love them so much!! Once again, everyone's home so we decided to go out for lunch...the only time we are all together otherwise one always missing during meal time due to work schedule. Looks delicious on the picture and sure they are. Today was, The annual catamaran race around Texel (“Rondje Texel”)...took these pictures from the dyke here nearby our house. These were the first to pass through after they started from "De Koog" at 9am and took these pics around 11am. I never been to the starting point of the race, so i don't have any idea how it looks like with so many of those Catamarans. Sure they are lucky the weather was great for them. The last couple of days was no wind at all and if it was still no wind today, was probably move for the next day or cancelled. It did happened a few years back and if it strong winds it will be cancelled as well. Today was really perfect for them. One of my lunch outings this week with friends. With work, we don't see each other much so if we get the chance we do like to meet up and have lunch or drinks somewhere. No stitching done at all for this week... Happy weekend to all.

Lizzie Kate May & my blooming orchids!

To my surprise this May design was already stitched last year, found it on one of the maps unfinished items. I only had to make it into a pinkeep the other day and luckily have a lovely fabric for the back. Love how it turned out. Had started stitching the June design but not much for a picture... Here is my update with the freebie i started end of April...hopefully be finish soon. Just not sure how to finish it off...thinking into a flatfold or maybe frame it... Was cleaning up a couple of days ago and suddenly noticed my blooming orchids. Really lots of buds coming out. Oh...i so love them! Happy happy Mother's Day to all MOMS like me!!

What a hectic week it was!!!

Absolutely no crafting for the last week...was been busy working, socializing and preparing...
Yesterday, was quite sunny and i had promised some friends to take them and have a look around for fields of Tulips or Daffodills here on the island...wasn't much compared to years before. I am sure in abundance somewhere on the mainland especially around Northern part of The Netherlands. Below picture was taken from the camera...looks much better... than the one from my Iphone.

This one was taken from my Iphone. I think it's because it is old as i've seen some taken from the boys phone(new ones) were looking much better.
Hubby should be the one standing here as it was for his birthday...saturday! But he's been busy going back and forth to the ferry picking up friends or chatting with friends. Was quite an organization for me to prepare everything for his birthday as i had been working too wed.-till friday so i only have the time for grocery and cooking in the evening...but i did and sure happy to hear all the lovely compliments after the meal. Kind of a challenge as well as i love cooking and wanted to see what i can...About 30 people joined us for the meal, didn't expected it myself..so glad the food was just enough otherwise there are quite some i've made for small bites too.
I've made tarts/cakes, small bites and the main meal.
 Friday evening..Chris with his band had a competition with different students of the Music school they are in for their lessons. From the 22 groups that joined in they ended up as third. So proud Mum here...
 
 Wednesday the 9th was hubby's birthday, it's during weekdays and he preferred to celebrate it with family and friends during the weekend so after work we head out for a meal just the two of us. Kind of a special restaurant and Chris being very choosy with food we've rather made what he wants at home. Grace away during weekdays at University.

Valentine small cushions!

Hello everyone, It wasn't my intention to wait for my next post for the second month of the year...i did expect and wanted to try and post more often this year but....nothing at all. I am not busy at all as work's very low due to winter season...since i got back from Asia i miss so much home that i spend lots of time to chatting to families back home as almost all we can chat through facebook even my mother so i do chat to her almost daily. So that's where my mind these days. These two where my only finishes last month and both sent to friends as a surprise gifts. I think they are still on the way, do hope though it got to them in time for Valentine's day. With a couple of friends we've been to the mainland to a garden centre last friday and i've bought a few orchids and some spring flowers, just potted them today! I do love how they came out...and now looking forward to Spring!! Last weekend had been socializing as usual, attended birthdays at the mainland and sunday just a get-together dinner at friends here on the island.
