"My little heart"SAL

I needed a small design, a quick finish actually to get me back into stitching and saw that Sylvia release the 3rd part of her SAL. (you can click on all pictures to enlarge).
It was really a quick one so i decided to stitch another and finish it off into a scissor fob. Isn't it cute!! This SAL can be seen at Sylvia's blog. Thanks so much, Sylvia!
Thought to offer it for anyone who hasn't a fob yet. If there's more than one who will sign in then i have to make a draw. The name will be pick out on my next post...which will be later this week or before the weekend.
It's the end of the month so i can show my 2nd update on the "Pioen Rose" Alphabet i am doing with Tinna.

What a day it was yesterday! After sleeping in the last days as the kids are on school break, we had to get up early yesterday(saturday) for Chris football game. Finally, after a couple of months that games were cancelled every saturday due to the bad weather, they were allowed to use the field although not all the group as one area or actually on another village was too wet.

Anyway, after the game when everyone's going back to their respective car, our friend saw i have a flat tire. I just look at it, stunned...and don't know what to do, my minds racing i need to call the garage as i definitely don't know how to change a tire. But our friend said he will fix it but he has to go home and change as well as a few equipments he needed for it as it's park on a wet grass. So, off we went to their place and from their i called one of hubby's best mate if he has the time to help out and he came. So between the two of them they've change the tire and went to the garage to let it fix and then back again as the reserve tire isn't a good one.
Whew! Sure i am very very grateful of our friends here as well as you all in blogland for all your friendly and encouraging comments for these past days!

Hubby just called earlier tonight, they are still at sea and no news when they are going back to the harbour. Hopefully though before the weekend...but we just have to wait.

Chris isn't well when we finally got home after dinner last night, probably from the cold as it was quite windy and rainy a bit during their game. After he vomitted before midnight, that's the time he feels better and able to sleep well. We were able to sleep in and then i had to go out this afternoon to one of our friends who had helped yesterday.
That is why i haven't answered any mails yet or visited blogs and groups. I hope to catch up tomorrow. Can't stay late now as school begins tomorrow...Thanks so much for stopping by and hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend!

...feeling miserable....

...and depressed lately, i am in no mood for anything even my stitching or reading...
This bouquet of flowers was delivered last monday from the company where hubby's working. Saying they were sorry for once again hubby's delayed. I nearly thrown them in the bin! I was sooo angry at that moment! Much as i love flowers, i prefer hubby to be home. Now, we are into the seven weeks that he is away...instead of the 4-5 weeks. And still no news when is he coming home...!The kids do miss him too and i did offered to take them out somewhere this break but they prefer to wait for their father and do something together. They are used to it going out together but i think with hubby's job now we cannot expect it anymore.
I'm sorry for whinning but i am just sooo frustrated! Better not post till hubby gets home i think....

I do have a stitchy post as Ellen received the mattress pincushion i made for her. It's the Spring freebie from The Prairie Schooler design.

And finished another scissor fob for the ILCS group.

Also made a small progress on "Peace Inside".

I truly appreciate all your visits on my blog and THANKS so much for taking the time to leave me a comment. Wish you all a happy weekend!

Prairie Schooler ornament & needlerolls!

Here's my February ornament SAL. Was stitched a while back only the finishing that just done. I would like to try this kind of finishing for this year but not all with beads around as i don't have enough beads anymore. Last year i've finished the SAL all into pinkeeps or flat ornaments.
Christmas Eve Deer
Prairie Schooler design
November 2009 TGOS
28ct Belfast linen
DMC threads
((you can click on all pictures to enlarge))

Finally, the needlerolls were filled! I still have March, April and May to stitch.

Thank you all for your sweet comments and "get well" wishes, it means so much to me. I do feel a lot better now, really glad my runny nose is over. Only, i feel very upset...frustrated as hubby called after midnight that he can't come home today as expected. They left the harbour after he called me, they can't wait for daylight as there's an emergency on one of the platform they are supplying. So, probably by weekend or after the weekend when he can get home...that will be more than six weeks that he's away instead of four. We all miss him and also there are things that needed his attention(paperworks) and decisions pertaining with the children as i can't share them all through the phone. Oh well, we just have to be patient and wait!

I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!

Feeling yucky!

Been feeling pretty yucky the last few days, have a terrible runny nose and on and off headache. What with the weather, one day is bright and sunny so off for a long walk, the next day grey and windy still off for a short walk but i didn't go out now for a couple of days. Right now is dark and rainy!

Shall we move on to March? I am so ready for Spring to come!

This prompt me to stitched the above ornament! I've admired the fabrics Lisa had used for her Valentine's finishes so she send me a couple of piece along with the clover fabric. Aren't these lovely! It was really a wonderful surprise and just before Valentine's day. Thank you so much, Lisa.
I've finished this into a Mattress pincushion for the montly giveaway last year. This was a freebie then from the Sampler Girl site but i am afraid it's not available anymore.

Had completed a few scissor fobs lately but can only show a couple as the others were sent out and i prefer it to be a surprise. These two will be added for the prizes for one of the yahoo group.

Nah...hubby couldn't make it tomorrow as they are too far away at sea, so probably sometime after the weekend. He's nearly six weeks away then...Chris kept asking when he is coming home...Oh well, it is Spring Break here the coming week so we'll see maybe we will get out of the island and visit some friends on the mainland.

As always, i really appreciate your visits on my blog and THANKS so much for taking the time to leave me a comment. Wishing you all a wonderful and relaxing weekend!!

Small Valentine's collection!

Here's the latest Valentine's finishes! It's from the series of the SAL which can be found at Sylvia's blog. I decided to join the others to do it on one piece, atleast these were quite small pieces so i hope i can follow through.
A week from today hubby will be flying home from Aberdeen. This is one of the longest he's away, more than five weeks and further away from home. Ussually, when they are here nearby, about an hour drive after the ferry i do go and visit for once or twice during the four weeks but now they are stationed outside the country.

Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Weekend!! Enjoy time with loved ones, family and friends.

"Oh Sweet Valentine", the last....

...Valentine finishes? I think so! This is another cute freebie which can be found at Primitive Bettys.(you can click on all pictures to enlarge if you want).
As you can see there's another of the "Love" scissor fob added, this one is on the way elsewhere...!
I should have posted this update with the last post but forgot to take a picture then. It is not much progress though but have to set it aside, will try to pick it up before the end of the month.
Thought to add a couple of pictures of Max from last year to show how big he is. I think he's nearly 9 years old now and still a bit active. He's been picked up by the owner already but i am sure we will go and borrow him when hubby is home. He's used to hubby everytime he comes here before, it seems he does miss him too as he ussually go at hubby's office room and everytime he hears the outside door open, you can see he is really waitng and so eager to see who is coming in.

I want to say a huge Thanks to all who has kindly offered to help me out with the DMC threads. Shari was very quick with her response, thanks so much. I did send back or answered a few emails-comments but most haven't appeared their e-mail address with their comments so i wasn't able to send personal message back. I should post here on my blog last night but i was so tired after the "Zumba" which was at 7pm. Before leaving home for the Zumba i was quite stressed, I was worried...angry...as Grace isn't home yet and she wouldn't answered my calls. It's dark and i know she is coming from town with her bike which takes about 15 minutes. She arrived 5 minutes before i left so glad all's well, hope she'll realise to send a text or call when she's coming home quite late. So, last night i wasn't in the mood for anything but had to pick up a book and read just to stir my mind of other things.

As always, i really appreciate your visits on my blog and THANKS so much for taking the time to leave me a comment.
I hope everyone is staying warm in this cold, cold winter!!

Max is here....& February block is finish!

The owner went to visit one of his children on the mainland for a couple of days so he dropped Max here at midday yesterday. He's so excited and wouldn't sit down so i took him for a walk at the dyke, see how misty here. We cannot see anything at all, but i know Max enjoys his walks here. He misses it perhaps as they live in town so there's not much open areas for a walk. I know the owner take him to the beach if he has the time on weekends though.(you can click on all pictures to enlarge if you want).
I finished stitching the February serie and also done the hemstitching for both, so they are now ready to finish into a needleroll. I don't have fiber fill anymore so have to wait till i get some. I would like to ask a favour...if anyone can help me with DMC threads. I am nearly done with the PS design but i ran out of the green one so i will get that one here tomorrow, it cost 1.65 dollar a thread. I've read on one of the yahoo group this week that one(in the U.S) has bought some DMC which has cost .10cts at Hobby Lobby. Why oh why is soooooo expensive over here!!! If anyone willing to help me out, please send me a note: mboekel@yahoo.com hope we can arrange something for the payment.

The football game was cancelled yesterday so Chris was really unhappy. They haven't played this year at all because of the weather!!!
This afternoon i decided to take them to the cinema, there where only two films, either Alvin and the chipmunks or the Dolphins and Wales in 3D. Only one cinema here on the island so there's not much to choose. Chris wanted "Alvin..." and Grace prefer to stay home as she will go to a Valentine film on friday with her friends so just only me and Chris. It was Fun!
Well, better take Max for his last round although still 10:30pm as i am a bit afraid when it's too late.
Thank you all for visiting my blog especially to those who take the time to leave me a comment. I do appreciate them so much.

"Love" freebie & Prairie Schooler WIP

Finally, i've completed this freebie design! Finished stitching it a few days ago but can't find the right fabric for the back, but another look on the box of fabric i've found a pink one, i think that one will do. I've used one of the hand dyed threads of Crescent Colours. For anyone who haven't seen it yet, you can find the chart at: The Stitcherhood.
There will be one or two more valentine designs to add later.....I am quite productive with stitching lately, due to the bad weather the last weeks, all the trainings and football games for Chris were cancelled. Especially the games every Saturday where we have to spend the whole morning at the football field. The weather seems fine the coming days so i think the game will resume on saturday but still very cold. For the kids is not a problem as they are on the move but for us parents who just stand and watch is not fine at all!
Had worked on this Prairie Schooler and here's my latest progress. There's not much left with this one so i am sure i will finish it soon.
I still don't know what am i going to do with the magazines, thanks all for the ideas or how you arrange yours.
Annette, yes i try to make one(mainly scissor fob, i think) for the winner each month.

Thank you all so much for visiting and all the lovely comments over my last post. I really appreciate them all.

February ornament..

...finished just right on time. This is my very first into a round ornament. I am so glad it turned out well, though honestly it was quite d...
