Scissor fob & a wedding card

My second exchange for this year on one of the yahoo group. It's a freebie at Plum Pudding Needleart designs. Love this little autumn one, was a bit difficult to send out, hope the receiver likes it.

Here's what i received from Lynda in return. Cute and i love it!!

A couple of days before the wedding of one of the neighbors i was wondering either to buy a card or spend a whole evening stitching, chosen the last and glad i did made it on time.

Not much stitching done this week, been working and socializing mostly after works. Last tuesday evening with colleagues at work(no pics), with a live band so had been drinking and dancing lots till after 2am. The next day, my whole body was achy especially my hips. We sure had fun!
Had met-up with the guys working at the fishing boat yesterday evening, they are usually at the harbour near my work during weekend. All four guys came from the Philippines too though very far from where i came from. Drinking and eating lots lately, way toooo bad for my DIET!!!

Thank you all so much for stopping by and all the kind comments. I really appreciate them all.
Hope you all have are having a happy weekend!

A card & sept. "my little heart sal"!

I so love this cute design, it's the fourth time now that i made this one into a card. I know my sister was expecting a baby boy but i don't like to start stitching it beforehand so when i heard the news early this week i work on it and finished it within 2 days in between sorting and packing.

Here's a picture of my sister's family, living in Canada. The last time we met was when we were both visiting our parents in Asia year 2004, she's single then. So i haven't met her family yet though seen lots of pictures of them on facebook. They've booked to visit our family in Asia this coming December but we couldn't make it to join them. It will be a while for us to meet each other...

This very small design took me a couple of days to finish. Really don't have much spare time to stitch these days. But atleast we are nearly done with sorting and packing as hubby will be off to sea in less than two weeks.

Thank you all for stopping by and for taking the time to leave me a comment. I really appreciate them all.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Today's outing.....

The last day at school for Chris-- rather morning as they are free after 11:30am, while Grace went to get her grades at her school.
It was quite warm so we decided to go to the beach again, Grace went earlier with her friends just after receiving their grades.
We arrived at the beach after lunch and took a couple of pics...This time i went in for a swim, water temperature is around 17 degrees celcius!!
((you can click on all pics to enlarge if you want))
Only stayed a couple of hours at the beach as we had to visit MIL and then off to town for Chris swimming, for getting his "diploma C".

The children had to do lots of diferrent swimming strokes and one of them Chris wasn't really goed at so we were a bit afraid he didn't made it. He was asked to do it again the said swimming stroke and it seems it was alright so he got his certificate. On the last picture, one of the examinator had whispered something to him...i think Chris favorite teacher during his swimming lessons.
Been stitching but very very slow and not much to show for progress. The card below was completed a while back as well as the summer pinkeep and the Hardanger for a friend's birthday.

It is Shari's big day today. Happy happy birthday, Shari!! I do hope you will have a lovely day!!

Many many thanks for all the lovely comments on my last post! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We sure have a busy one...saturday--to a birthday party and then to friends place for BBQ. Sunday--visiting family and then out for dinner as hubby is leaving monday to sea. He just had two weeks off this time. Hopefully, next will be longer...

Bouncing Baby Boy!

Thought you've all have enough with all the freebies i've finished recently, so here's not a freebie for a change, though i still have a couple of freebie finishes but not yet completed into something.
I really like this design, isn't it so CUTE, i've stitched it for the third time now.
When i went to bed last tuesday night i was so excited because one of my siter who is living in Canada shared her good news that she's 2 months pregnant after been trying for nearly two years. Woke up the next day with a message from my mobile that one of our friend gave birth that night, a week early than was expected. Excitement continues! So when the kids left for school and in between housechores i started stitching the design for the card. They live on the mainland and she's with the baby still in the hospital. This morning after instructing the kids for their lunch break and both off to school i went to the ferry. I was able to catch the morning visit at the hospital, which was only an hour.
Here's a couple of pictures taken, isn't he a cutie!!

Been working on and off with the last series for the needlerolls. Just finished stitching the January serie and i still have to do February till May. I think i will try to do one each month.

I've subscribed to a couple of U.K magazines for a few years, and i am going to miss them now as i didn't renew any this year. Can't afford it anymore, hopefully someday...
Anyway, any ideas how to keep the magazines. Dou you keep the whole magazine or cut them and arrange it by themes or seasons?
I really have to start sorting here and as you can see on the picture i can't keep it that way or else it does need lots of boxes, i am sure hubby won't be happy with it. Please, any opinions are welcome.

It will be a busy and fun weekend here, Grace friends are coming for sleep over, so there will be four girls, while Chris goes to one of his friends. I will be out with friends(saturday evening) to the village hall to watch the yearly show played by a group of villagers. Afterwards, i think there's a band so it will be fun!

Thank you all so much for visiting my blog especially to those who take the time to leave me a comment. I do appreciate them so much. Hope everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks so much Maggie for sharing these great design, Simply Live. I received it from Cindy last month just after we came home from Asia. Cindy stitched it up quite quickly. I am sorry i haven't started it right away, just wasn't in the mood for stitching lately . Now, after finishing a couple of small pieces i thought to start this bigger one and here's my progress so far.

And here's a card i've just completed for a friend who had moved to another house recently.

Off to ASIA...& July giveaway!

We are off to Asia tomorrow for 4 weeks to visits family and friends. We'll be back the 5th of August. It's been pretty busy here the last days as it was really nice weather, either we are at the swimming pool or at the beach. Yesterday, the weather has cooled off and today quite some rain, so i am glad i don't need to water the plants. Whew! i really feel sooo tired as it's been a bit crazy today. In between packing, cleaning, friends and family stopped by. Better go to bed early as we have to get up at around 4:30AM.

For the July giveaway, haven't had time to make one but i don't like to skip it out so this will be an open one, a finish item of your choice...like pinkeep, flatfold, mattress pincushion, biscornu, a floss ring tag or a needleroll..., do need an idea of the theme preffer though. Everyone is welcome for the draw, but please indicate if you want to be added for the draw and if possible to leave your e-mail address so i know where to contact you. It will be open until August 7.

Happy Birthday Karan!. Hope you can have use of the decoupage patterns. I do miss making this kind of card making but just don't have much time anymore.

This was stitched a while back but i wasn't in the mood for finishing as i wasn't sure how to finish it off. Now i do want to complete it before the month ends!

Here are the collections each month since January.

(You can click on all pictures to enlarge if you want)

Where Grace and her friend babysit once a week had their 3rd baby last weekend so i made a quick card which Grace dropped it this afternoon. Her friend is on holiday in Spain at the moment but when she's back early next week i am sure they will go and visit.

It's Queen's day here in Holland tomorrow. Before, we have small parades for the children, Grace had participated a few times when she was small but since last year they didn't organize it anymore. I think it was something about the band, there was not many members to divide for the villages.
But they have some kind of games and other activities for the children in the afternoon so that's where the kids are going and in the evening we have a "Meierblis "(a large fire)' just nearby here. Hope i can take a few pictures to tell more about it next post.

Thank you all for stopping by for a visit and all your lovely comments. I deeply appreciate them all.

A quick post!

I realise the other day that we will celebrate Chris birthday tomorrow, saturday(29) as his b-day is on monday(dec. 01) and he is at school the whole day. So i had quickly made a card yesterday and here it is. Yes, he has football match

tomorrow morning first so visitors are welcome in the afternoon.
Not many i am afraid as we have heard from a few friends that some are having other activities being so near 'Sinterklaas'.
He's now sleeping peacefully and we've just finished putting up a few decorations as well as our gift, this mountain bike in the living room. He is sure be happy to see it in the morning as it's one he really wants to have. We had said it cost too much so he'd better not expecting such but he's doing very well at school and with all the changes over here we thought it will be a very good motivation to keep up. This is sure an exemption especially that it's very near 'Sinterklaas'were we need to buy more gifts for them.

Well, i've received a few mails about a couple of x'mas/b-day packages and i am so happy to hear it all arrives safely. I hope to send a note back after the weekend, i am off to bed now as it's over midnight and have to be early tomorrow.

Wish you all a very good weekend!

baby cards & received exchanges

Quick cards finishes made, the left one for Dh's niece who gave birth last Saturday and the other card for Eva(from CSE yahoo group), hope she receive it by now.

This is what i made for the HOE Christmas ornament exchange for Valerie . Just read that it got to her safely. Haven't taken a picture of the whole package but glad she likes it all. Valerie does have pictures on her blog though. This ornament is the recent freebie of Prairie Schooler Designs.

Received this magnet from Kim for the Small Finished Exchange at ILCS yahoo group.
A very cute magnet, thanks so much Kim.

Here's been pretty hectic, we were able to get away for a couple of days, just me and dh. We've booked a 'beauty arrangement', just here in noord holland an hour drive from the ferry. We thought we could go to Begium but thinking of driving that far and the weather wasn't that good lately we decided to just stay nearby. It was last monday and came home tuesday evening, quite relaxed. The massage was great and enjoyed the food without the constant chatter of the kids, which we had last weekend when we were out to dinner.

I wish all my friends in the U.S a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, may you all have a wonderful day with family and friends.

SBEBB Pumpkin Patch

I've just heard that Jean received the exchange i've sent to her. WOW! It seems going to Singapore travels faster than going to the U.S.A. Since i am still waiting for a couple of packages that was sent to there long before i've sent this parcel to Asia. So glad to hear you like it, Jean.

Looking back from some of my pictures last month and seen this card that i've made for Grace birthday. She's the one who is crazy of chocolates! Atleast she's quite active like going to school with the bike everyday, plus she's in the Swimming club and Street Dance.

Took these pictures too a couple of weeks ago at our backyard. I had noticed i had lots of pink colours around. Glad there's not much damage after the bad weather the last days, just a pity we can't sit outside anymore to enjoy it.
Infact i've cleaned the table and chairs and packed up inside yesterday.

Thank you al so much for stopping by and all the lovely comments, also to all who offers help regarding the threads and ideas regarding the finishing. I really appreciate them all. Will try to send notes back later this week. Still haven't finish the pieces, don't know yet actually...

oh before i forget, i am still waiting to hear from the 1st prize winner for my bloggerversary which was: Laurie G P in NE. If i will not here from you till sunday, i think i have to pick another winner.

Tha back of the flatfold. I am happy to find this fabric in my collection, bought it sometime last year fo quilting but never made it...!

I used a DMC thread for the cording.

These are a couple of cards that was sent a while back and just heard they are received so i can show a picture. A birthday and a new born card.

Perhaps i can get a chance to stitch for x'mas cards this weekend, oh and the monthly challenge too, hopefully next week.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by and all the lovely comments.

Cards!!!

Oh yes, i got distracted from working on the PIF's, though i had finished a couple of stitching and will be looking for the right fabric colour to go with it. Just had a look of what i have of fabric and i have mostly for x'mas finishing...so need to have a look later this week at the quilter's home.

One of the yahoo groups had asked if anyone's interested to send a card for her Dh 40th b-day. It's free choice so long as with the 40 number on the card, i choose to stitch this for him. Actually, he's not really looking forward to this #!! That is why these will be a big surprise for him. Hope he'll like it though!

And since i am in the mood for cards i also finished two cards for a future birthdays of children's of friends/family.

Here's Chris so proud receiving the certificate for completing the tables of 1 to 5, the only one in his class of 23 pupils. Yeah, with calculations...i am not sure what is the right term use for school anymore, i thought math can do as well. Anyway, he's quite good with it and ahead too with his classmates that is why we try to slow him down and asked him to give more priorities with his reading though it is going good as well.

Lynn, about the scissor fob you've asked, works really fine for me especially when i'm on the couch watching tv as well as trying to stitch, and put needles and pins too.

Thank you all so much for stopping by.

And hope everyone are having a good day. Here's finally dry and sunny after a few days of constant rain. We've had an hour walk at the dyke with DH, though it's cold but it feels good after staying all the time inside.
Got to see to lunch!!!

January & February ornaments

The january ornament was a freebie years back at The Floss Box..it is not available anymore as a freebie but i think it can be ordered at he...
