Prairie Schooler finished

Actually this was a finished last month but can't show a picture of it until now. I made it for an exchange(SFE) for Michelle, i was a bit worried as this took quite a while to arrived. So glad to read her post that it finally arrived and that she've like it. The finishing(sewing) were all done by hand(can't sew).

Patchwork took over my stitching these last days, will show a picture hopefully tomorrow.

Although, here's another card i made last week for a birthday (stitch) card exchange.

Bad news and a RR retuns...

Just received a phone call from MIL, DH's uncle died early this morning. His wife just after x'mas while he's in hospital and so weak he wasn't allowed to attend the funeral. He was partly paralized after a heart stroke, that was after he heard about his wife and we think since these couple were very close with each other, he does wanted to follow. It's so sad for their three sons though and their families to go through this again.

My rr from the Robin's Nest
arrived! Thank you so much, Leslie, Renee and Christine for stitching on my piece. It turned out great!! I would like to frame this piece, perhaps when we got back from our visit to Asia in April!

more blocks and SFE from Kim

It is slowly going back to normal over here, children's back to school and to their respectice activities outside school. No more late nights for them...they've really difficulty getting up very early since monday.

Last weekend visiting friends went well, been shopping too and was able to buy a pair of shoes for me and Grace. And before going home we went to Mcdonald, the children really wanted to, as we don't have it here on the island.

ANNA: Thanks so much for the link. It's a lovely one and i've print a copy of it

A couple of small finishes for the blocks swap. I do want to get ahead with this before our leave next month visiting my family in Asia. Next i have to do a few more cards and a february exchange...not sure yet for this one though, i mean how am i going to finish it...

Here's a picture of the pinkeep that i received from Kim for the SFE. It's lovely and very neatly done!! I LOVE it. Thanks so much Kim.
I am still waiting to hear from Michelle if she receive the one i made for her last month before showing a picture.

Tea Time??

First off, thanks so much Margaret & Dawn. Everything went well with both services, we just hope dh's uncle will make it through and be home soon.

Finished this tea time for January's block at ILCS. It seems an appropriate one for this time of year, to make time visiting friends.
We are actually going to the mainland tomorrow and visit friends and stay there for the weekend. But i do hope to drop by at some friends place next week. Children will be back to school then.

First finishes for 2007!!!

My first small finishes for the year 2007!! It wasn't so busy at work yesterday which makes it a long day and was finally allowed to stop at 9PM. (I started at 12PM)
Came home and rest with a glass of beer and since i needed to send a birthday card before the end of the week, i took a couple of cross stitch magazines, knowing the theme of the receiver makes it easy in finding an appropriete one. I think i finished the bird in less than an hour.

Today, we've been to DH's aunt funeral. We left the children alone at home, thought it will not take that long but it did. The service was nearly two hours, very different from a couple of experience last year.

Coming Thursday, we will go to another funeral and this will be at the mainland. Father of one of DH's closest friends.
This is really sad for everyone...just the beginning of the year and both unexpected.

February ornament..

...finished just right on time. This is my very first into a round ornament. I am so glad it turned out well, though honestly it was quite d...
