Mattress Pincushion...foodies...

Hello everyone...i am keeping myself busy here though with different activities, stitching...working...trying out new recipes, workouts...walking with friends...time isn't enough in a day to fulfill all that i want or planned...haven't read any books lately and i miss that too. Anyway....stitch this design a long time ago and just finish it off into a mattress pincushion this evening. Was searching on the net who the designer is but haven't found out yet...It is a freebie, sorry...can't remember who! We had a furry friend to take care today but the weather was aweful, typical Dutch autumn weather...Gloomy, strong winds and rainy and this friend isn't fun of the rain, we took him at the dyke and he relieves himself and wants to get back home at once...we really can't get him to walk further away...silly dog. Yesterday, was a lovely fall weather...though only in the morning so i'm glad i'd texted a friend to join me for a walk at the beach...think we had spent about 2 hours just walking along the beach, it was cold but on and off sunshine and no winds..so it was a lovely morning. Tried this menu for dinner today, Tagliatelle Carbonara with chicken and bacon... quite a succes. So glad the boys like it, so i don't need to use the bottled ones. Made this typical dutch pea soup last weekend and was yummy too. And this Cauliflower Casserole before the weekend was a good one too. Many many thanks to all who stopped by and take the time to leave me a comment. Really, appreciate them all. Happy week to all!!

ABC exchange at HOE & a week pics of here..

Both were received last month but i haven't had much time to do an update here on my blog. Kind of crazy on and off...sometimes i thought gonna be a relaxing week even after works but wasn't been...ussually had work over and sometimes on to the next event after work!! Here is what i´ve stitched and sent to my partner. It was a freebie years back and tried to find who the designer was but can't. Hope someone can recognize and share who design this lovely piece. Here's what i received from my partner. A lovely PS design, one of my favorite and finish off into a pinkeep. A wedding card for an ex-colleagues who got married the other weekend...who's now on vacation somewhere in Spain in one of the islands! We've had a pleasant afternoon at the brewery with colleagues and the owner of the 'eatery' where i worked...It was booked few weeks earlier, thought weather wouldn't be that good..unfortunately it was sunny and really good for the terrace but we had to closed after lunch. From the brewery we went to one of the nearby beach for dinner. Was sure a lovely outing..though not all can make it to join us for the event. Last friday...I do feel blessed with my dear friends, had a long day at work..on my feet for about 11 hours at work and then driven straight to their place and foods was just ready...hmmm was all yummy and afterwards watch the first WK football game for the Dutch against Spain. Honestly, i am not that fun of football but since my friends does i had to watch too...Well, since the Dutch had been winning was quite fun to watch!! Took these pics during my walk with a friend early last week. Much as we want to go atleast once a week...both have quite a busy schedule...in a week hubby will be home thus instead of walking with a friend usually i ĺl go with hubby if he's home. Above were just pics from last week...the ones taken before that better not upload as it will be a very long one with just pics of events taken place here... Anyway, thank you all so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave me a comment. I really really appreciate them all. Have a great week to all!!

@ Friendly Stitcher's exchange

These had been sent and received for quite a while now
but haven't had the time to update or post on here.
Had chosen a LHN design and finished it off
into a mattress pincushion. Glad to hear Chris like it.
((You can click on all pics to enlarge))

Here is what i received back from Chris. I so love what
she've chosen and very neatly finished.

As usual too busy socially and some i haven't have pictures
taken from gatherings we've been too.
Chris band had performed a couple of weeks ago
at one of the event which mainly for adults but
they try to invite young ones too and let them
performed earlier for the youth. Do hope the video
works (below the picture).

Hubby was sick when i attended one of the birthday
parties so he wasn't able to joined us. He had a nasty
flu that lasted more than a week so he had missed
out on a few occasions even the performance
of the kids above he wasn't able to go and watch.

By the way, about Grace with her test for the Pilot study,
she didn't make it at the last test. Now, she'll have to
re-organize what she'll going to follow after this school
year. Quite a difficult decision for her...anyway, exams
ahead for them so they'll have to concentrate on that first.

Many many thanks for visiting and all the kind comments. I really appreciate them all.

Mattress Pincushion

I noticed this one wasn't included in the picture for this month's w.i.p's, i nearly completed the stitching with this one when i took the picture so i thought i'll quickly finish it & completed it off into a Mattress pincushion. I couldn't find who the designer is, printed it out last week and forgot to take note from who. I am not even sure if it's a recent freebie or from previous year. Do hope somebody can share or know who is the designer.
I used DMC: varigated thread, #48 on 32 count linen. I do love how it turned out!!! Now, i hope i could fine some of my previous February theme i've completed before....

Yesterday, our daughter Grace(17) passed the second test to join the academy for commercial pilots. We are really happy and proud she've made it being the youngest in her group. Although she still have 3 more test to go...Hopefully it will be scheduled soon. Because she doesn't have any other options to follow after her term here which will end this coming June. Kind of heavy for her now as it's her exam year too...

Many thanks to all who stopped by and all the kind comments, they are very much appreciated.

Mattress pincushion!

Mattress Pincushion
Prairie Schooler Book No. 144
32ct linen
DMC threads

This was actually completed the beginning of May...recently, i am more into reading than stitching. Reading keeps my mind from thinking of my love ones who are far away, hubby now 5 weeks away..expected to be home end of next week. My constant worries about my parents...and quite busy here too with work and voluntary work for the children at school and other activities. Honestly, can't wait for summer vacation, still a couple of months away!

..cut some peonies from my garden and brought inside!

A few potted plants outdoor, would like to buy a few more but i am not sure what kind, perhaps next week as a friend had booked us a day joining a workshop which is in one of the garden center at the mainland. Just got a text message from her so i am not sure yet of the details.

Near summer vacation the kids have ussually a few different outdoor activities...school football was the first which they had to play against different school here on the island. Chris group won after 5 different games! I wasn't able to watch all the games as i had to work a couple of hours at the canteen, somebody had too(all voluntary works are quite a lot here...which is sometimes very frustrating especially now that i am back to work. Quite lots of parents are working so you really notice almost the same parents who are present when help needed! These are not common from where i came from...i wonder how is it in other countries....about voluntary works at elementary schools!!

Many thanks to all who stopped by and all the kind comments, they are very much appreciated. I know i am behind reading/visiting blogs...i am sorry, do hope to catch up soon.

The 7th part of the easter SAL made it into a mattress pincushion, completed it just in time for the last part which we had received yesterday. I really enjoyed stitching this design and kind of sorry it is over but hopefully not the last.

Many many THANKS for all the birthday greetings for hubby's birthday. It was a great success! I will show some pics later as i haven't sorted them all out yet. TOO busy here...socially, i'm not much home the last days. Have lots to show as i went to "Keukenhof" flower park yesterday with friends. This weekend...more activities to go too so hopefully next week will be back to normal schedule...i hope!!!

Everyone a "Happy weekend"!!!

mattress pincushions!

'Spring' mattress pincushion
Prairie Schooler freebie design
32ct linen & DMC threads
flower mattress pincushion
Primitive Bettys freebie design
32ct linen & DMC threads
I've completed these two mattress pincushions last month, gifts for friends and now both were finally received, the Prairie Schooler one to Nita and the Primitive Bettys to Karen. The one to Nita took a while to arrived it did got me worried.
(you can click on all pictures to enlarge if you want) On our way home after the football games of Chris we went to get some potatoes by one of the farmers here and saw this field of Snowdrops nearby their house and these crocuses infront of the house, although you can see lots of small bunches of crocuses along the road these days.
We came home after 2 in the afternoon and Grace said Max didn't want to go out with her for his round so off with him to the dyke. He loves his walks over here but when we first took him home after he hasn't eaten anything at his home he was so weak he couldn't manage to walk up the hill to the dyke so we only goes along the small bush beside the park infront of our house.
These past few days, i prepared extra meal for our dinner and give some to him, he likes it so much that i began prepareing more food for him during meal times. Maybe why he kept following me wherever i go.
Yesterday, i wasn't feeling well but i had to go out for his rounds as he doesn't go without me unless if he doesn't saw me all day.

Thank you all so much for your continued visits on my blog and for taking the time to leave me a comment. They mean so much to me! Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

...feeling miserable....

...and depressed lately, i am in no mood for anything even my stitching or reading...
This bouquet of flowers was delivered last monday from the company where hubby's working. Saying they were sorry for once again hubby's delayed. I nearly thrown them in the bin! I was sooo angry at that moment! Much as i love flowers, i prefer hubby to be home. Now, we are into the seven weeks that he is away...instead of the 4-5 weeks. And still no news when is he coming home...!The kids do miss him too and i did offered to take them out somewhere this break but they prefer to wait for their father and do something together. They are used to it going out together but i think with hubby's job now we cannot expect it anymore.
I'm sorry for whinning but i am just sooo frustrated! Better not post till hubby gets home i think....

I do have a stitchy post as Ellen received the mattress pincushion i made for her. It's the Spring freebie from The Prairie Schooler design.

And finished another scissor fob for the ILCS group.

Also made a small progress on "Peace Inside".

I truly appreciate all your visits on my blog and THANKS so much for taking the time to leave me a comment. Wish you all a happy weekend!

Terschelling but first....

... the piece i made for the July giveaway which was won by.....Lisa S.. Before starting the said item i asked what does she likes and she said she likes purple colour, autumn theme or Halloween. This chart came to mind at once and she've received it last week, i am so glad to hear she likes it.

July giveaway for Lisa S.
"One Good Witch" mattress pincushion
Erynne's Freebie
32ct natural linen
DMC threads
((you can click on all pictures to enlarge if you want))
Terschelling is a municipality and an island in the northern Netherlands, one of the West Frisian Islands.

Wadden islanders are known for their resourcefulness in using anything and everything that washes ashore. With few trees to use for timber, most of the farms and barns are built with masts recovered from shipwrecks. The islands are surrounded by famous shipwrecks, and even today many containers wash ashore that are blown off the decks of cargo ships in the North Sea. Perhaps the most famous shipwreck off the coast of Terschelling is the Lutine, whose bell hangs in Lloyd's of London. Another famous ship was the Oka 18, which sank near the town of Formerum. Until recently her funnel could be seen rising out from the sea. In West Terschelling a pub was named after this ship.

The main source of income on Terschelling is tourism. There is some agriculture, but a large part of the island has become a nature reserve.

Terschelling is well-known for the yearly Oerol Festival during which theatre-performances are played throughout the island, making use of its landscape and nature.

Terschelling can be reached by ferry from the mainland Frisian town Harlingen and from Vlieland by high-speed catamaran.

The back of the hotel and the next building where you can see only part was where hubby been for his DP (Dynamic positioning simulator) course.

This was our view, the harbour, every morning during breakfast.

We've been out to dinner every night and this being one of them.

Covered wagon (Huifkartocht), i've signed in to one of the arranged ride for this one but unfortunately there was not enough people to make the trip around the island. The season is over, unless somebody booked it as a group.

These are some pictures i've taken during my walks everyday, only one village but atleast the biggest or the centre of the island.

We stayed on the hotel for our last diner as it began to rain when hubby got back from his course. We had to walk about 15 minutes to go to the center and 15minutes back in the dark. The food was really delicious but quite expensive.
Well, we've enjoyed our stay and especially being together!!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog especially to those who take the time to leave me a comment. I do appreciate them so much.

January & February ornaments

The january ornament was a freebie years back at The Floss Box..it is not available anymore as a freebie but i think it can be ordered at he...
