JoyfulworldSAL-April

The monthly SAL at Joyfulworld by Maja. Released around 9pm and glad we just got home from a party so i was able to start stitching and couldn't stop till i am done and that was around after 3am. Tried to sleep for a few hours and up at around 8am for kid to go to school. When he left i did the flatfold finishing and then was on time for me to go to work. I can say, i do love the results..though all in a hurry but good for my troubled mine and keep me busy... Happy Weekend to all!

February ornament...

Stitched a while but just had completed into an ornament last night. It is a freebie of "Sandy from Montana". Second time i stitched this design, last time was for a couple of years ago for gifts. I am trying to stitch freebie designs for my monthly SAL...just hope i can fulfill it each month. I am working on small designs for Easter as it is three weeks away from now...I'd like to make a couple of ornaments to give to friends so...we'll see if i can finish something soon. Kind of busy at work and lots of unexpected things lately...Hope i am strong enough to face whatever unforeseen changes soon... Thanks to all who stopped by and leave me lovely comments on my last post. Really appreciate them all.

March...JoyfulworldSAL..

...i was happy i am off today and had been patiently waiting for the released of the March block...It came out before 4pm so i gather the threads and start but had Zumba lesson after 5pm and couldn't miss it as i am gonna miss it next week being away for the week...anyway, back home after Zumba worked on the March SAL...unfortunately frogs keep visiting me and not just a couple of stitches, it was lots especially the whole upper border. Was late and wanted to give up but thinking i will be working these coming 5 days so i did pursue and finish it off. Weather lately hasn't been good but when it looks dry we try to go for a walk....oh well, quite good when we started this morning, half hour later it started raining so instead of having a cup of coffee at my place both friends went home as we were quite wet all over. While waiting for the chart, March SAL... i've made one of the Filipino dish, "Puto"..rice muffin cake. Oh so sweet and love it...too bad for my diet though... Haven't been to mass for a while and since i am off last sunday i joined my friends for the sunday mass and ended up at their place for lunch. Had a good catching up and so much fun. Love this Amaryllis, pale pink colour but looks so lovely and it stayed a while in the vase. I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Many thanks for stopping by and all the kind comments.

My Social Book

I ordered my third book a couple of weeks ago and it didn't take long and it arrived...sure happy of it. Yeah, had been more active on facebook than blogging, think because it is quite easy to post anytime and especially most my family and friends have access to it compare to blogging. Also, was glad i had posted pics over there otherwise i don't have nothing..our pc crashed around september and i've lost ALL pictures of 20 years over here. I haven't done much stitching these last couple of weeks, this small piece was stitched first week of January and was sent to Mouse in the U.K for her 50th birthday which she wants to make a quilt out of stitched pieces fro m stitching friends. Glad to contribute for it. When weather permits, with friends been for walks and have some drinks and enjoy the sunny moments. I do bake, sometimes twice a week but sometimes i made the same cake or tart so don't take pics all the time..unless when it is new i do take pictures of it. A couple of evenings had a furry friend stayed. The first morning has been quite a good weather so we were able to go to the dike for a walk but the next day has been stormy. This friend rather not step out the door when it's raining, well...me either! Thanks everyone for stopping by and for taking the time to leave me a comment. Really Appreciate them all.

"Give love..."

A very quick finish while waiting for the pea soup to be done. Stitching is pretty quick but deciding how to finish it off is another story. I had difficulty finding how to finish this one off. I don't have much choices for fabric and so fort...well, Love how it turn out...It is a 'Valentine freebie' at the Little Stitcher. Stil available. I ǘe noticed that lots of the lovely previous freebies on the net aren't available anymore. Such a pity for me, as our pc crashed last November all i've saved were all gone. Been out for a walk in the woods with friends at midday...a winter sunny morning though very windy so we opted to go to the woods. A productive morning for catching up as we haven't seen each other in a while. I had a problem with my foot though, it was 0 degrees at that time and can't seem my foot to get warm while walking. Valentine giveaway is still open...the post below. Happy weekend to all!

Valentine's giveaway...& other finishes!

Hello everyone! Been a while since i offered any giveaway...recently, i had more time for stitching and thought to make something to offer. Here it is, a simple biscornu which can be use as a scissor fob as in the picture taken or just for a display. It is a freebie i've seen on pinterest but no designer link to it. Everyone is welcome for the draw, but please indicate if you want to be added for the draw and if possible to leave your e-mail address so i know where to contact you. It will be open until the end of January so i can send it out the beginning of February. Another freebie which i can't find who the designer is, this will be send to a friend in Asia. This is a freebie of 'Primitive Hare' and tried adding a piece of fabric and made into a small cushion. Not really happy of the chosen fabric but i don't have much choices for this design. Bought a couple of fresh fruits last weekend and wanted to try them for baking, right saturday evening i was ready to prepare them for muffins but my scales don't work anymore but the next day is sunday and stores are closed. After worked i stopped by at a friend's place and borrow hers so late last night was able to prepare these muffins. Fresh raspberries are easily rotten if not eaten or in use just after buying that is why i was quite in a hurry to do soemthing with them. Taste good and actually quite easy to make. The raspberries, i've used butter.... ...while the blueberries i've used yogurt & oil instead of butter. Both turn out fine. One day last week, i was with colleagues to the city...to the Horecava exhibition- this takes four days and everything for the foodservice industry. We sure seen quite some new things and had lots of fun too. Thank you all so much for stopping by and all the lovely comments. I really appreciate them all. Wish you all a wonderful week!!

StitchAlong-Joyful World..Design by Snowflower Diaries

Through a blogger friend, i came across this freebie StitchAlong when it was about to start the beginning of this year. So glad to be able to join in, so i LOVE the first two series already. The first picture below, month of February...the designer just released it midafternoon sunday. I started stitching the design at 8pm and couldn't stop till it's done...was 2am. When it was finally finished. So happy of the results. I would like to finished them, with the January one into a flatfold. Still...i am thinking of stitching the whole serie in one big piece-into a Bellpull...we'll see! In another group, i joined in a Christmas SAL each month...so here is my stitched piece a freebie of Primitive Stitchers society. No idea yet how to finish it off. Hiked through the dunes the other weekend. Had been rainy and windy at first but midafternoon it cleared up so me and a friend went off for a walk. The last days been grey, rainy and windy though not really feel of winter rather an Autumn feeling with the srong winds on and off and wet! Many many thanks to all who took the time to leave a message on my last post. Your kind words meant so much. Happy week to all!!

New year's Dive & first finish...

Yes, that time of the Year again..we're crazy people running into freezing cold water...although it is quite unusually warm compare to previous years, sea water temperature is about 9 degrees as it hasn't been cold recently. No winds and sunny but the current is strong so still quite dangerous running into the cold cold water. It is the first time i noticed guards standing by at the water as there were lots of small kids joined for the event. Kees isn't in the group as he is away for his job so just me and kids and a friend of our daughter. Kind of chaotisch day as i've lost my Iphone at the beach car park. We were so in a hurry to park and ran of for the beach and noticed it late that phone isn't in my pocket. Not sure where it fell off either in the car or on the way to the beach... can't get back to the car park as it was time to run for the dive at the sea. Returning back to the car, NO iphone...ohh I cannot describe how i feel then ...thinking of all the pictures which i haven't transfered to the pc for the whole year of 2015. At mid-afternoon i called the restaurant at the beach if somebody brought an Iphone to there area but she said none...half an hour later she called back that my Iphone is in...i am truly glad of the finder to hand it back, i sure felt so lucky...that there's still honest people around. To celebrate and because i haven't had the mood for cooking we went out for dinner. Back at home started a new piece, a freebie i've seen on Pinterest. Finished stitching it today...don't know yet how to finish it off so it will have to wait. Wishing everyone a great year ahead!

November & December
