simple flatfold & our day at movie park germany!

Schoolgirl flatfold
Little House Needleworks design
32ct linen
variegated thread DMC 115

I am glad to hear it made safely and on time for Sue's birthday this month. I love this design and hope to make one for myself & do love this red color too but don't have it anymore, think i have to ask for help for a couple of skeins.

((All pictures can be enlarge))
We left monday to Dorsten, Germany where we had booked a hotel for a couple of nights. From the hotel was about 20 minutes drive to the park which we had booked for the next day....as you can see on the picture below, arriving at the park... so dark and rainy.

We were not prepared for it so we had to buy raincoats at the park which they have plenty! It has rained on and off the whole day sometimes heavy so a few of the attractions are closed. Most attractions were outside ones and very few indoors.

Here's one of the 5 different roller coaster were hubby and Grace were in, Chris was a bit afraid of this one so he didn't joined in. Roller Coster is not for ME!! Can't stand it--i get dizzy!!

Side Kick is the name of this one, Chris wasn't allowed in so only hubby and Grace.

I'm afraid i haven't been in to any of these attractions, i am really glad hubby can take it all, although a few the kids joined in without us.

It was after 12pm on this picture and as you can see the park looks like deserted! Here's hubby and Grace while Chris on the Jet Ski Ride.

Took a last picture before leaving the park, it was 5pm and it was finally DRY!!

The tickets we had booked for the park can be use for two days so after checking out from the hotel wednesday morning we drove to the park, thought we can go in for a couple of hours before driving back to Holland but when we arrive at the park's parking area the one who was directing the cars send us or directed us to the very end of the parking area while nearer the park was not even half filled. We asked why we have to park so far away and he said because our car is big! (It's a Chrysler Voyager). It started raining and we had to walk about 7 minutes or more to the entrance...we were angry and very disappointed so we decided at that moment to just go HOME! We really didn't expected that as the day before wasn't a problem at all with the one who was doing the job.
Oh well, that was our outing...not much of a succes because of the weather but it cannot be helped.

Many, many thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to leave me a comment. I really appreciate them all. I hope you all are having a good week.

Mylene, next time I get to the big city, I will pick up the floss for you! It is time I sent you a care packet of floss anyway!
I showed Caleb the roller coaster pictures. He said no way to some!! (he was at an amusement park last weekend!)
Sue's gift looks great!!! You are so kindhearted!!!

I used to ride roller coasters when I was young, but have gotten more afraid of them--I worry that my back will be hurt or something even worse! So sorry the weather didn't cooperate, but at least the kids had fun anyway.

I love your red finish, Mylene--I just bought some DMC 115 for the first time. People's finishes always look so nice when they stitch with it...

My stomach can't handle all those wild rides any longer, but I loved to get on them as a child! Besides that, my back and neck would probably never forgive me for putting them through the type of torture your body goes through when on some of those rides. Glad you were able to get out for a family trip, even if the weather didn't cooperate. At least you had the park to yourselves and didn't have to wait too long in lines!

Love your finish. Happy Birthday to the recipient!

Mylene, I also posted my Flatfold on my blog! I just absolutely LOVE it!

I don't do roller coasters either, but it looks like everyone had a great time.

I would have been angry also at the park attendant!!! He had no right to send you so far away; I would have done the same thing.....left!

Hugs,
Sue

That's a shame about your outing getting rained out. Hope you all had fun just being together though.
Your flatfold is beautiful. What is the fiber that you need. I may be able to get it from the LNS I work at.

I don't think I'd have gone on those rides either, well maybe the big Ferris wheel, but definitely not the roller coasters.
Love your flatfold finish, the variegated red is just right for it

Hi Mylene,
Oh that flat fold is absolutely perfection, your stitching and finishing are simply the best. Love the colour ,I will attempt one of these one day.
Oh dear I do not think I would like those rides at all, I never could stomach those sort of things.
Looks as if you had a good time despite the weather.

Such a shame you went to the park on the worst day of the year (DH sort of "swam" to work, it was really bad!). Hope you still enjoyed it though. I love that park but I'm usually the one looking after jackets and handbags while the others go on the wild rides ;) That free-fall tower would probably kill me...

Your gift for Susan is so cute. To bad about all the rain. The rides look like a lot of fun.

Gorgeous flatfold with perfect finishing.

Too bad about the rain, but it does cut down on the crowds! And it looks like you guys made the best of a bad situation. I'm a complete scaredy-cat when it comes to amusement park rides so I understand your feelings.

What a beautifull flatfold is that, love the red in it.
Which DMC color is it?? maybe I can help you.
What a great photo's of the park, You had fun!!! To bad of the rain en the women that lated you park that far

Love the flatold! If you need DMC, let me know. I'd be more than happy to ship you some.

I get horrible motion sickness on a lot of rides so I end up being the photo taker.

Your flatfold is gorgeous Mylene!
Those rides are far to scary for me but even though it was raining it sounds as though the family had a lovely break.

Your flatfold is beautiful! I'm with you on the roller coasters. I am so hoping that Mariah doesn't like them when she gets bigger! Sorry your day was so disappointing. Glad the kids had a good time though!

Your flat fold is gorgeous! Fantastic finish!

It really looked gloomy for those rides. And you wouldn never catch me on those roller coasters!! I am terrified of those things. :) But is sounds like the children had fun rain or no. :)

The flatfold is fantastic, Mylene! I had stitched the chart when it went out but never finished it - I like your small version so much better so I might just have to restitch it in a better color than I used and small count. Thanks for the inspiration!
To the amusement park - I went with my family here in June to the local one and I HATED the rollercoasters! Will do a post about them soon. I am curious if the spin spider we have here is the same size as the one you saw there. I would love you to comment when you see my picture. I think one difference is (or seems to be) that in the one here, people are sitting with their legs out of the circle. You might wonder why I am so interested... it's because we had such a wondeful time at the park with my cousin's kids BUT none of us did the spin spider! It looked like a killer to us!! We just stared and stared at it from a safe distance!! :)
But, so sorry you had bad weather while there... sometimes things the weather gods play tricks with our plans!

Your family must have had so much fun at the Movie Park. Great pictures. Like you, I do not like the rides and was always so thankful DH enjoyed them just as much as the kids.

The park looks like SO much fun - it's been years since I've been to one of those!

I don't blame yu for not going on those rides, some of them look scary!! Looks like you had a good day though, apart from the rain.
The car park attendant sounds like a bit of a 'jobs worth'

Have a good weekend :-)

A gorgeous flatfold, its wonderful Mylene, i really must try this type of finish myself.

You would never get me on those rides! So sad the weather wasn't better for you all.

Mylene, your Schoolgirl finish is so beautiful! I love this colour and the way you finished it off.

Too bad about the weather you had :( We were also very unlucky this year. We had a weekend in Paris and it was raining all the day heavily, it was hard to see the Eiffel Tower because of the rain and the clouds, the top of it was not even visible. Of course when we had to come back it was sunny...

You stitched a great gift for Sue. It's just perfect for a flatfold finish and youfinished it so beautifully. Love everything on it.
Sorry to hear that you had such bad weather at the theme park. But fortunately you (or better your husband and your son, lol) could do some rides anyway.
