Finished the three samplers into a needleroll a few days ago but was quite
busy with the kids acitvities, also DH came home yesterday for the whole afternoon as he needed to do some paperworks regarding his position at work. Atleast we had some time together before he got back to the ship. Just a week more then he'll be home!

It's the last week of Grace school last week and they had a kind of 'project week'. Parents were welcome to go and see what they had done last friday. Here's a picture of Grace(right) with her friends with what they had made out that was assigned to them.

Chris still have this week for school. He really wish it's also over like his sister.
For this week they join the swimming acitivity at the open pool here in town which starts at 6:00pm till 8:30pm where they will do 20 or 40 laps everyday. It's called 'zwem avondvierdaagse', don't know the term in English. Anyway, i am the chauffeur and have to wait, atleast i have enough books now for company. But there are friends there too with there kids so probably won't have time for reading just like this evening.
Here's Grace and her friends, both girls are in the car with us too. That's one of my friend holding up her hand, doesn't want to be on the picture.
Haven't got a good picture of Chris but he's the dark head farther left. and here he is playing with one of his classmates, he said he likes the girl or rather both likes each other. kids...kids...!

Thanks so much for stopping by and all the kind comments. Hope you are all having a good week.

Our tickets to the Philippines now booked!!!

Finally, DH had booked the tickets last night so in about two weeks we are flying off to visit family and friends. We had waited for booking expecting that the prizes will go down a bit but there's not much really difference at all. Still around 4200euro's(5878U.S dollars), we have to go this summer and can't postponed because of the kids school and dh's work.
Oh my, now that it's booked and just over two weeks i really need to do lots, like packing or things really needed especially for the kids and arrange some things around here too, for watering the garden and Grace weekly newspaper round.
DH will come home the 6th of July and we are flying the 9th. We are flying with Singapore Airlines this time, previously were ussually with Cathay Pacific.

pc is fix!

Thanks to one of the guy who took over part of dh's computer business. After trying to find what was the problem through the phone with hubby, with lots of diffrent wires at the back of the main pc we really couldn't follow through which is which connected to what so hubby called one of the guys to come and look at it. I think he's been here for about 15 minutes and everything's working again or atleast ours with the kids are all working. Dh have to look more into it when he's home in about two weeks now!

Been busy here lately with birthdays to go to and other celebrations. So haven't done much stitching, only small update on the sampler and a LK design for a gift so can't show that yet.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you're all having a good week.

Zumba trial classes are over!

We really had fun with the Zumba workout the last four weeks, even if we had dificulty following some of the steps especially the movemnets of the hips and shoulders all at once. There were enough people who are interested so there will be classes which will start in September. I sure signed in too and can't wait...I do try though to practice here at home with the help of films through You Tube. I noticed though that the more i am busy with this workout the more i crave something to eat especially salty snacks. hmmmmm!!!

I had been stitching and finished July, August and September Birthstone & flower samplers. After finishing the June one for the giveaway i decided to try and stitch all of them, from a booklet of The World of Cross Stitching. Just have to do the hemstitching for July and September then they are ready to fill in.

Received a box of Nora Roberts books this afternoon, English ones! I miss reading english books and all they have at the library either i've read it or it's not to my taste. I know one of my friends at the mainland buys lots of English books(that's her hobby) so i ask her to lend me some as you can see, one of the authors she loves is Nora Roberts...me too actually, so i especially asked for it. She does has different crime books but i've chosen the romance ones.
This sure distract me from my stitching!!

I will leave you with a few pictures of my flowers at the backyard.

Planted these violets last march, aren't they lovely!

And these flowers, can't remember the name anymore!

These my other peony finally in bloom!

I am feeling much better, THANKS so much for all the kind comments.

Hope everyone's having a good week!!

I am not feeling well!

It started last tuesday evening with a headache and running nose so i went in early. Hubby wasn't happy as it's his last evening, he left wednesday morning to the ship for three and half weeks this time. The last days, had headache on and off and a sore throat but today...with a mild headache i went out for an hour walk with a friend as we haven't seen each other for a while, afterwards a cup of coffee. After she left my headache isn't mild anymore so i took a couple of paracetamols as i need to prepare the meal for lunch, luckily was an easy one as the kids asked earlier for 'Lasagne'. When i've place the dish in the oven i really felt dizzy and a very bad headache so i went to lie down on the couch but not for long as i started vomiting. Oh..it was awful! At that moment i was a bit afraid as i was alone so i was hoping i will not pass out. Chris came home an hour later, i still felt bad but have to take out the food which is a bit dark but glad still fine.
I've slept part of the afternoon when they went back to school and feel a bit better now. But better stay safe and called off a couple of appointments that was scheduled for tomorrow.

I try to read a few blogs on and off but still i am way behind, hope to catch up very soon.
By the way, Chris picked the winner for this month's giveaway...congrats to Gaynor! Please send me your address info and it will be on it's way to you by next week. THANK YOU all so much who enetered for this month and all the lovely comments.

Not much stitchy updates to show besides this small update on the sampler.

I wish you all a happy weekend!

PS exchange & floss ring tag

Finally my PS exchange has arrived to Canada. It did took a looong time, nearly three weeks, i began to think it was lost! I really jump with joy when i saw the message of my partner, Suzanne on the PS blog that she received it. I had sent it together with my package to Lynn and Julianne. Both had received it within a week, i think Lynn got it after a couple of days, to the U.K. And to the U.S four days. How come to CANADA...nearly 3 weeks???

I've completed them all together in a week, not the stitching but the finishing so i was able to take a picture of the three before sending them away. I can say it was difficult to part with them but hope all the recipients like it.

Here's a picture of what i received for the PS exchange, a cute scissor keeper fromGoldie. Thank you so much!

Glad to hear Anna received this one on time for her birthday.

Well, it's the first time in weeks that we have a quiet weekend so we were able to sleep in and no rushing around!!

Natalija, yes i do have vase of fresh flowers every week, just realise three different ones as two in the living room and one in the kitchen. I love fresh flowers and also we have quite some friends or family walk in anytime for a cup of coffee or chat. I do try to alternate with plants sometimes when fresh flowers are getting expensive or we are not home that much to enjoy it.

I hope everyone's having a good weekend!

June giveaway, a simple needleroll!

Ready for this month's giveaway? It's a simple needleroll. I actually made two as i was trying which or what kind of fabric is best for it. The design isn't that big so i had to use one of 28ct. The white one is an evenweave, and the other one is on dirty white linen. I've taken some pictures but they aren't that good, really blurred so i am sorry.

Anyway, everyone is welcome for the draw, but please indicate if you want to be added for the draw and if possible to leave your e-mail address so i know where to contact you. It will be open until monday (June 8th).

Zumba & beach day!!

Thank you all so much for the kind comments over the Quaker Row finished and all the well wishes about my knee. It feels much better today. I think i can try slowly the workout again soon.

I thought everyone knows about ZUMBA especially in the U.S as we heard it's the latest rage over there.
Here is a description i copied from 'Wikipedia': A Zumba workout mixes body sculpting movements with dance steps derived from cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, hip hop, mambo, rumba, flamenco, and calypso and Salsaton. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms. It targets areas such as the glutes, legs, arms, abdominals, and the heart. A Zumba class is typically not formulaic in that instructors often add on their own music choices and choreographies to make their class presentation locally unique.

And here is a peek of one of the steps:

...well, anyone wants to join me???

Bright and sunny with a bit of wind today! And it's a holiday from school so we took the chance to go to the beach. The first time for this year. I think the water temperature is about 15 degrees celcius(59 fahrenheit). It is just too cold for me to go in the water but see the rest of the family! brrrrrrrrr!!
(you can click on the pictures to enlarge)

Here is Chris quite far so i was actually shouting that he has to get back but with the wind he can't hear me. Grace is after him and his friend Mels looking out.

Here is hubby after them!

They are really brave to swim in this cold water as i haven't seen many who went in. Most are just sunbathing.

Here is a view of the beach, as you can see it is not really busy.

Hope you are all having a good week and thanks so much for stopping by.
